What you dream is just a propaganda you consumed from the discourse of Melse Zenawie. It is right in Ideal situation. In a region where there is not land grabbing and no more speculation of poor farmers land. The Ethiopian death dam will soon the same as that of the Egyptian Aswan with high content of Salinity. Today the Aswan dam has become like the Red Sea and Mediterranean sea full of salt with no use for agricultural purposes. When it comes for the death dam of Melese Zenawie, it is being prepared for the Saudi and Indian land grabbers who are waiting to make millions from the plantation of fuel plants and cash crops sold in the speculative wall streets of Zurich, London, New York. Now tell me where is the benefice for the simple farmers of Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan after all. I think your have been brain washed by Mlese Zenawie Saudi paid propaganda. The region like Benishengual and Gojjam around the Death dam the land have been grabbed. The speculators are just waiting to use the Nile water for their highly industrialized demanding farmlands. You are a nice human Ethiopian dreamer and your are not living on the reality world. Le t me tell you, even the electricity produced is for these highly intensive farmers of India. When it comes for drinking the Nile will not soon be potable dear due the chemical that is washed in to the surroundings rivers who are tributaries of the Nile form the industrial farms. Good luck dreamer. Let me give you what Jomokenyatta Said in His Book facing mount Kenya. He said that "the European showing us the Bible and the Heavens and while we gazing up, they took our land under our foot. There is the saying in Amharic :- "Ye abyen leg weha temaw" meaning " The son of the Nile born on its springs can even not quench his thrust..." that is you thanks for human comment I appreciate... we will make human level dam when you became the Ethiopian Premier, Dear, not Mlese Zenawie ? Needless to worry, we Ethiopians we will never quench our thirst alone leaving our Egyptian and Sudanese brothers; our forefathers have never done so and we won't .The building of the millenium dam has no intention of harming our neighbours but make them beneficiaries out of the big Ethiopian bread basket to come by alleviating poverty from the country. The construction of the dam will help control flooding in the downstream countries assuring the amount of water that they need all year round pure water avoiding silt that may fill up their dams.Egypt and the Sudan will benefit from the power generated from Ethiopia at fair rates including agricultural products that these countries require as Ethiopia has a comparative advantage for producing them from its fertile irrigable land and in return The two countries can focus on industrial products and the like that Ethiopia needs including oil which Ethiopia can import industrial commodities .This will undoubtedly strengthen our bond of brotherhood with a bright future for generations to come.So why be pessimist let's give optimistic attitude a chance .let's forget the dark ages of the past let's shape our future for a better tomorrow full of hope and prosperity working hand in hand. This is what we should inherit to our children not empty words.Africa has made a big step from OAU to AU and our cooperation with positive thinking will surely benefit our countries and play its part in enhancing African Economic Union.Lastly I would like to say we will continue drinking with the same cup from the same bottle your worries are our worries too; after all we are God fearing people. Let us work together avoiding skepticism for a better tomorrow full of hope for generations to come breaking the disease of skepticism that colonialists have created once and for all.
